It may sound ridiculous but in the run up to the big day it is very important that you don’t neglect yourself.

Many brides are so caught up with what everyone else should be doing that they forget about themselves and their general health and wellbeing goes completely out the window!

During all the wedding planning, it is important to make sure that you are taking physical care of yourself. This means keeping yourself and your skin really hydrated with plenty of water. Eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. Ensure you are eating enough protein, carbohydrates and fats to keep your body functioning well. It is quite usual for brides to practically stop eating altogether as their big day approaches and this is not a good move. Not eating properly makes you moody, makes your skin look unhealthy, gives you bags under your eyes, your eyes lose their sparkle and makes your breath smell. None of these are good qualities for a sexy bride to have! If you are trying to lose weight for the big day, take it slowly and do it over a long period of time – much healthier for you and for everyone else around you. Most brides lose weight as the big day approaches anyway and this is mainly down to nerves. So, don’t get too obsessed with weight loss as it will probably happen anyway. Don’t forget, that bridal gowns and bridal underwear are so cleverly made these days that you automatically lose a dress size just putting it on!

Getting plenty of sleep is also an important consideration. It’s all too easy to stay up late surfing the web checking out the latest bridal trends, but a couple of early nights will make you more efficient when you are awake. Plenty of fresh air and light exercise are also important if you want to reach your wedding day brimming with health and happiness.

The run up to the wedding is also a great time to get little ‘body repairs’ sorted out. If you bite your nails, then this is a good time to try and stop. Make your wedding day your big target. Maybe your eyebrows have become a bit bushy in which case why don’t you start getting them waxed? Be careful when trying out new products though as when we are stressed our skin becomes hypersensitive and could react badly to a new product.

If you are feeling very bogged down with it all, why not take a wedding planning break and don’t do anything wedding related for a week or so. Keeping perspective on the whole thing is very important and it’s only when we step out of a situation that we can regain control. Don’t let it take over your life.
