10 Tips for Writing Your Wedding Vows #7
Another way to generate ideas for your wedding vows is to make a list of all the things you admire in your partner. This is often called brainstorming. Get a notebook or a few sheets of paper and a pen. At first, just let the thoughts flow. Don’t question or concentrate on any one characteristic. Write quickly. Once you have a fairly good list of qualities, ideas may come more slowly. A technique that can help you generate more ideas is visualization. Close your eyes and bring to your mind pleasant moments that you spent with your loved one. After a few minutes, open your eyes and write down everything you felt or thought during the visualization. Do this as many times as you like recalling different experiences each time. Now, read the list from the beginning. As you read it through, take note of new ideas for your wedding vows. This exercise alone should generate many words and phrases that will help you in writing your wedding vows.
