Wedding Venue Tips
The wedding venue sets the tone of the event. Having a perfect wedding relies largely on having the perfect venue. That’s why you should treat finding a wedding venue as if you are buying a new house. It is, after all, where you will receive family and friends in probably the most memorable moments of your life.
Following are some tips to help you choose the best venue for your wedding.
Take your time.
Don’t pressure yourself to choose the wedding venue. Your wedding is too important to rush things. Ideally, you should start looking for a venue at least a year before the wedding date. This would give you enough time to make the right decisions and change the venue in case anything happens.
Trust your intuition.
As soon as you arrive in a particular location you will automatically have a certain feeling towards it. You have to trust your instinct. If you feel positive about the venue then that’s a good start. In the same way, you will know automatically if a certain venue is not right for you and your wedding. This doesn’t mean that you should through logic out the window. Yet, you want the place where you will exchange vows to feel right to you.
Draw a layout of your wedding.
Plan the layout of your wedding before beginning your search for a venue. You must know where you want guests to sit, the reception area, the dining area, etc. Then check if the venue fits your layout.
Consider the size.
The size of the location is a very important consideration. If it’s too big, the wedding will loose its intimacy. If, on the other hand, it’s too small, it will be cramped and uncomfortable. The size of your wedding is determined by your guest list. So, before looking for a wedding venue, you must at least have a rough idea of how many guests you will be planning to invite. Be as precise as possible.
Check the parking space.
One of the complaints many people who have attended weddings imake is the lack of adequate parking space. Be sure that the wedding venue you choose has ample space for all of your guests’ cars. Parking may be a minor consideration but it can spell the difference between a happy guest and a dissatisfied one.Â
Check the venue regulations.
Request a copy of the venue’s regulation. There may be restrictions about the volume of the music, placement and use of decorations, time of use and others. Check if the wedding venue would allow you to bring your own caterer, florist and decorator. Some locations require you to use their staff.
With these tips at hand, you should be able to find the perfect wedding venue for your most special day.
